I had the opportunity to conduct research with the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Cardiology at UCLA. We studied Fontan patients (patients with one poorly working ventricle. Most common conditions include double inlet left ventricle, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, tricuspid atresia, double outlet right ventricle, pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum, and heterotaxy) and evaluated what differentiates high performers on a cardiopulmonary exercise test and low performers using both non-invasive and invasive data.
