Impact in action in underserved global communities
After learning that many young heart patients did not have access to life-saving care during Covid, due to the lack of medical training and resources, I offered my 3D printing expertise to a prominent heart surgeon in Lima, Peru. I utilized my Spanish speaking proficiency to share the process and use cases via Zoom to Dr Julio Peralta at Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo. The innovation of 3D printed heart models, with specific heart defects will help improve surgical outcomes and the access to care for patients in Lima.
